Several times a year, Heidi and I try to visit interesting places far away from Bloomfield Hills. The wildlife in these places is quite different from what I capture in Bloomfield Hills. But it requires the same ingredients - patience, a good eye, and some understanding of the animals - to land great shots.
Some of the images in this gallery are taken during trips to South Africa, where a wonderful guide helped me find great shots. At the Galapagos Island, the animals behaved quite differently - they often fearlessly approached me to be portrayed. The way I took pictures in Florida reminded me quite of the animal behavior at home in Bloomfield Hills.
The next trips are already in planning - I can't wait to be in Africa, Asia, South America, and the many great National Parks here in America.
The world is so diverse and full of surprises. Heidi's and my curiosity, our open eyes, and our interest in learning about other cultures and regions have been rewarded with insights about foreign countries, friends from around the world, and -of course- stunning pictures.
The gallery exhibits mountains, villages, sunsets, castles, beaches, and forests from Italy, Mexico, Germany, Greece, Peru, New Zealand, Ecuador, and South Africa, as well as from natural parks here in the US in North Carolina, the State of Washington, Florida, and Oregon. As I said, the next trips are already scheduled.
